Story: I was rescued from Chicago Animal Control. My owners surrendered me but I don’t know why. I seem to have been abused. I am afraid of men but I do warm up to them after I feel I can trust them. Story: My name is Anton. I am a 6 year old Bichon Mix who weighs 18.5lbs. I spent several weeks at a shelter until Small Paws came and rescued me. I was extremely matted and afraid at the shelter. Now that all the matts have been shaved off, I feel so much better! I am a very happy boy and I love attention. I walk well on a leash and I get along with other dogs, but I could also be your only dog. I am crate trained at night. I would do best in a family with children 10 years and older. I am a herding breed, so I have some characteristics of the breed. I love the outdoors, and would love to have a fenced in yard. Story: I am a fun little guy who appreciates a good game of fetch with a tennis ball and then a nice nap on my mom or dad’s lap afterwards. I am a very loving guy once I know you; I even have a heart shaped spot on my back to show it. I tend to be timid with people I don’t know, but once I get to know you, I will be your best friend. I need someone who understands my personality and is willing to work with me so I can reach my full potential. I am recommended for a home with children 16 years and older.

Story: I came from Chicago Animal Control after I was hit by a car and given up by my owners. After weeks of trying to save my leg, the nerve damage was not getting any better and the vet had to remove my leg. I am very active and I love human attention. I get along well with other dogs; I love to play with my friends at The Barker Shop daycare.
